Bait Type: Other
Bait Details: Earth Worms Threaded through spider wire
Location Details: Best time to fish is at night! We used a Portuguese Technique where we thread regular earthworms through a long string (Spider Wire), then we tied the two ends and proceeded to fold the line over it’s self until I had a ball of earth worms. I then added a #3 weight so that it can help sink this ball. This ball is tied to a strong nylon string about 5-10 feet in length (you do not want to fish any deep than this).
This ball is lowered to the water until you reach the bottom. Wait for the action, once you feel the biting pull up the Ball into your boat. The Eel will let go once they are in your boat. This requires some practice but once you find them the action does not stop! Beware of the big ones! They will destroy the Worm ball in one shot but the fight is well worth it.
