Hit a new spot just beyond Eliot Bridge (behind Mt. Auburn Hospital) and caught a couple bass. All hail the power of the plastic worm!

Blasted out of work early and hit Bullough's Pond in Newton then trucked over to the Charles River. Bullough's saw no action but the river herring are all over the place in the Charles. Worked a Rapala ScatterRap Crank (in Penguin) and a Zoom Super Fluke in Smokin' Shad. I got serious hits on both but didn't hook up until I worked a BPS popper. Caught 1 smallmouth about 12" long. Was nice to wade in the river and stay cool in the shade.

Hit the Charles Esplanade with my buddy (my favorite veteran, seems appropriate) who I've just gotten hooked on fishing. Only scored one LMB in the 1 lb range but it was a fun little fight and finally ended the dry spell. Few more bites here and there and the wind made things rough but we had a lot of fun.

Hit the lake for a couple of hours

Return to Balch Lake this year for a couple of days and had a great time!

Caught a couple of decent bass while camping in Vermont this summer.

It was so nice out I just had to give it a try. Waded out into the river about 12 feet, below the falls, and started chucking a t-rig 5" Kalin's Lunker Grub (bluegill color) right into the falls. Was only there for an hour but caught a couple of nice fish! First of the season! Too bad the weather won't stay this way.

Spent a couple days on this really nice lake this week. It's loaded with decent size bass and a couple of beasts. Personal best was around 19" long and 4.28 to 4.31 lbs. Also caught 6 in the 2 lb range and a nice pickerel. Just awesome but sadly I didn't get any pics. The beast and a few others were caught on a Zoom Horny Toad in pumpkin green casting to the pads, hopped along and paused at the edge to sink before retrieved. Other go-to baits were a Strike King spinnerbait in sexy shad and 1/2 oz red eye lipless crank in the same color. Fun trip! Try the southern cove where all the stumps and pads are. Cartoppers, kayaks and canoes only though as it's far too shallow for anything else.

Went up for a couple of hours tonight and caught a nice LMB. Herring were everywhere too.

Good afternoon on the Charles again. Caught 2 smallies from the same spot as my previous trips. Nice to catch a few after getting skunked at Spot Pond. Bother were about 14" long, not sure about weight. Didn't get a pic of the second one as he flipped himself out of my hand. Fun night!
